The PS is back but it is still pretty green out there.
It is Sept. Izzy thinks it is Halloween Eve. She promised she would wait until 10/1 to start officically decorating. The temps are cooling off but most of the leaf drop is from stress because of on going sewer construction. All the trees are still 99% green. 24 more days and I get to see Matt, Fabi and Danny! (and thankgoodness Sammydawg too... she ate Sago Palm leaf debris and was terrifyingly close to dying...jesus... tell everybody you know, Sago is pretty... DEADLY. I do think Summer can wrap up. The Comic Tour is officially done.
The Comic is archived and catalouged. I really am so proud of both my bff and my daughter! https://comeoutindetroit.com/ The sprinkles have stopped. Keiki and I need to walk our fat old lady asses. I am going on a hike up a California mountain soon!Posted by Daye at 11:09 AM 0 comments

The Lake House
The kids came to Michigan for two weeks. The eldest, now a parent himself, had his 36th birthday. Then we drove, some of us more than others because no one changed the spare key two years ago when we got the new backdoor! Visited Great Grandma; drove some more. We rented a huge house in Boyne City on Lake Charlevoix. We took the dogs (superb travellers) and we just hung out together. Swimming out to the "power orb", drinking beers and reading. Watching clouds and boats.

Beautiful Sunday on Belle Isle!
We saw an older couple, playing Scrabble, in the shade. They had a cooler and a sweet spot.I was jealous.

The Rain Garden or Rewilding a 60'x60' spot
First we removed the asphalt. Admitted that the compacted sub base was going to prohibit a veg garden. Then I signed up for a MasterRain Gardener class. We removed the monster Box Elder tree that was rubbing on the garage and it's crappy litle mulberry friends.
Last fall we herded most of the leaves towards that direction and left them on in a thick mat, finally got the first five yards of topsoil delivered yesterday. I moved the roses from the back porch area so that area is all iris now. After the truck left? Of course it rained. Today we got the soil mostly flat and dug a trench from the new rain gutter to the lowlying area that inspired the direction we are going. Pete also moved the gravel the snow plow guy moved for us back onto the actual driveway.Posted by Daye at 2:43 PM 0 comments
