Just rocking out to The Doors and The Who whilst chopping cabbage, like ya do...
This is what happens when you can't remember how big your sauerkraut crock really is (Max capacity UNSALTED is 10 lbs. For future ref.) For just $3 I purchased two heads of cabbage. Reasonable, right? EXCEPT, these two heads were MONSTER sized and I have 18 lbs 6 oz of cabbage.
I got the 'kraut going. MY kraut is special. I also add in bay leaf and black pepper. It is quite popular with the fam. Favorite use is w/kolbasz.
I will also be making kimchee. Not, nine pounds of it, but kimchee none the less. That will be a separate adventure.

BREAK! |
What one has for lunch when one still has 9lbs of cabbage with which to deal. |

The fiestaware rabbit hole
My teacups are displayed. They get used, but not daily. |
Two peppers and a vintage plate. |

Oh dear. I guess I have a collection now.
The old stash |
Sugar bowl and random bits from Kath. But, as of today I have taken inventory. I have learned the diff between "little f" and "big F", why some pieces have stamped makers marks and why some have raised/carved makers marks. Because yesterday, we got a piece I have been longing for: the water carafe, in my beloved indigo.
The everyday dishes have extended past current storage. I think it is safe to now call it a collection.
